36 hours from now I’ll be on a flight back to OC for vacation, and I’m barely ready. Laundry is underway, although postponing it for this long means way more loads than expected, even though I have all three washers at my disposal. There’s just so much to do, so much to find, but I don’t have a great deal of time since I have to be in the office at 0400. At least I have a list of what I need to take and what I need to find, and I figure that if I hit 75% I should be fine. I do have a pretty good idea of where everything is, so it shouldn’t be too much trouble to get organized.
And the one thing I need right now? A can of WD-40 to lube the sticky handle on my suitcase. I know I have at least three cans around the house, but I can’t seem to find a single one. Oh well, I hope chain lube will be a viable substitute...

14 hours from now I am supposed to be on a plane on it’s way to pick up Onyxia.
Whoever finds my suitcase doesn’t have to sit on plastic when they ride.

You only wish you were flying AirCal to get there though:

You know, I never flew on AirCal, but I did fly Air California, their predecessor frequently back in the ‘70s. Being from little Orange County it was great to have a hometown airline, and they had the perfect IATA code: OC.

I never got to fly them, though I had a travel agent model of an Air Cal 737 in my office back
when I had a real job
. I actually like their 70s scheme a lot, but hey I think yellow and gold look good on airplanes, which makes me a minority.
I miss
the scrappy 737-200 wielding hometown airlines.
